Brown Sugar Apple Dip
When I tell you there is no yummier dip for apples, grapes, and strawberries, I mean it. This fruit dip has been a family favorite FOREVER and we used to beg our mom to make it weekly. The best part is that it only takes a few ingredients and even fewer minutes to whip up!
Some tips we’ve learned over the years:
- Whip the cream cheese on its own first before adding any other ingredients, this helps keep the dip from ending up clumpy.
- Don’t try to mix by hand or you will have grainy sugar granules and likely still some clumps of cream cheese. An old-school hand mixer is our favorite thing to use for this recipe!
- Keep apples from turning brown by rinsing them under water or soaking the slices in a bowl of lightly salted water OR water with a teaspoon of lemon added to it for 5 minutes. Rinse before eating and it won’t affect the taste!
BROWN SUGAR APPLE DIP
Ingredients:
- 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, a little colder than room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 t vanilla extract
- Heath Bits ‘O Brickle Toffee bits (optional, but recommended)
Directions:
- Using a hand mixer or mixer of your choice, whip cream cheese on high for 30 seconds to smooth out the texture and remove any clumps.
- Add brown sugar and vanilla and mix again until sugar granules have dissolved and the dip is smooth. If desired, you can stir some toffee bits in now or just top the dip with them later. Or if you really love the crunch, do both!!
- Chill until ready to serve and top with toffee bits alongside apples, strawberries, some crispy grapes, or whatever else your heart desires!
