When I was pregnant with my first son, I was craving Benihana incessantly. But I couldn\u2019t afford to actually go there. So I decided to make it myself! The best part is, it\u2019s <em>super<\/em> simple! My favorite sauce at Benihana is the dark brown one, so that\u2019s the one you\u2019ll find here to accompany the chicken and veggies. I can\u2019t promise it will give you the best breath, but it sure is flavorful and so delicious! Give this a try if you love a good teppanyaki restaurant but don\u2019t want to break the bank.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Hibachi Chicken and Vegetables<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>serves 4-6<\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Ingredients:<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>For the Meat:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1\/2 tsp sesame oil<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 tsp olive or vegetable oil<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">3 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts, trimmed and cut into 1-inch cubes (you can also use steak or shrimp here)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 tbsp butter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 tsp fresh lemon juice<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">salt and pepper, to taste<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><em>For the Vegetables:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 medium zucchinis, sliced into 1-inch cubes<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 medium onion, sliced into 1-inch chunks<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 8-oz package crimini mushrooms, stems removed and quartered<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 tsp sesame oil<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 tbsp olive or vegetable oil<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 tbsp butter<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">salt and pepper, to taste<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><em>For the Sauce:<\/em><\/p>\n<ul data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1\/2 a medium yellow onion<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">2 tbsp fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">juice and zest of 1 lemon (1\/4 c)<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 c low sodium soy sauce<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1\/2 c white vinegar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">1 tsp white sugar<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\"><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol data-rte-list=\"default\">\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">Heat oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet or wok. Add chicken, butter, soy sauce, lemon juice, salt, and pepper to skillet and saut\u00e9, stirring often. When cooked through, set aside and cover with foil.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space: pre-wrap;\">In the same pan, heat half the oils for vegetables. Add half of the vegetables, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp soy sauce, and salt and pepper. Saut\u00e9 until fork-tender\u2014do not overcook.
